From Gloucestershire Police:

Two people have been arrested after police forces worked together to locate a stolen caravan which was travelling into the county.

Officers from Gloucestershire Constabulary’s Roads Policing Unit were contacted by colleagues from West Mercia Police yesterday afternoon as a stolen caravan was travelling out of their force area and into Gloucestershire.

The caravan, which had been stolen from Lincolnshire at the end of April, was being followed along the southbound carriageway of the M5 shortly before 5.30pm when officers were alerted to this.

Officers joined colleagues from West Mercia in pursuing a vehicle which was towing the caravan before stopping it near to junction 11 and arresting the driver and passenger.

A 24-year-old man from Lincolnshire was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and a 25-year-old woman, also from Lincolnshire, was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of class B drugs.

They have since been released under investigation pending further enquiries and colleagues from Lincolnshire Police have informed the owner of the caravan about it being recovered.
