Balfour Beatty has this lunchtime said that an emergency road closure in Ledbury will remain in place for two days following a police incident and that a diversion will be in place.
West Mercia Police have confirmed that three people were injured in an incident in Ledbury yesterday evening, with one of them taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police told Your Herefordshire:
“Around 10.30pm last night (1 September) officers were called to New Street in Ledbury following reports of three men with injuries.
“Officers located the three men and paramedics attended the scene. One man was taken to hospital with serious injuries however they are not thought to be life threatening.
“Detective Inspector Chris Percival said: “Our investigation is in the early stages and while this is a serious assault, I would like to reassure the local community in Ledbury that we believe it to be an isolated incident.
“New street remains closed while our forensic teams complete their investigation however this should be reopened in the next few hours.
“If anyone has information or witnessed several men acting suspiciously in New Street between 9.30pm and 10.30pm last night please call 101and quote incident number 741i of 1 September 2021”.
