A new discount supermarket chain plans to open a number of stores across the United Kingdom over the coming years, after it confirmed that four stores would be opening in the United Kingdom in the coming weeks.
The company, called Mere, will open stores in Preston, Castleford, Mold and Caldicot this year and also plans to open hundreds of other stores across the country.
The company prides itself on being extremely cheap for customers, but the experience will be very different to that many customers are used to at traditional supermarkets.
You don’t need a membership to enter the stores, but all items will be placed on pallets, with no shelving and customers will walk into large fridges and freezers, rather than the small chilled units that we are used to picking items from.
Mere is expected to release a full list of potential sites in the near future, with Herefordshire likely to feature on that list.
