A murder investigation is continuing this morning following the death of a woman at a property in Worcester yesterday morning.
West Mercia Police officers have remained at the property on Green Lane overnight and are reassuring the public that they believe this is an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the wider public.
A statement from West Mercia Police said:
A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was pronounced dead at a property in Green Lane, Worcester.
Officers were called to the address at just after 10.40am today (Tuesday 9 March) where sadly a woman in her 60s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Inspector Dave Knight said: “We have officers in the area providing reassurance to the local community but we believe this to be an isolated incident. A police cordon currently remains in place while our inquiries continue.”
A woman in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of murder and is in police custody.
