The mother of a Hereford teenager that was stabbed on a night out in Liverpool has joined the Knife Angel Hereford Volunteer Team.
Theodore Green has a number of disabilities, atypical autism, severe ADHD, pragmatic language disorder, high anxiety and sensory issues. He moved from Hereford to Southport in July this year, after his parents found him a place at a special needs college.
But just six weeks or so later, the 18-year-old student was attacked on a night out by drunken dad-of-two Callum Cunliffe, 19.
The Knife Angel is a stunning 27ft, 3.5 ton, sculpture of an angel made out of 100,000 confiscated knives received from 43 Police Forces across the UK.
Originating from The British Ironwork Centre in Oswestry and created by sculptor Alfie Bradley, it has been on tour of towns and cities around Britain raising awareness of the issues of knife crime and all forms of violence and aggression.
It is a National Monument Against Violence and Aggression, and will be located at the West End of Hereford Cathedral in June 2021
During the Knife Angel’s visit, the Knife Angel Hereford team will run a series of workshops and interactive events. It is envisaged that this initiative will continue after the Knife Angel leaves Hereford.
