A mum has told Your Herefordshire how she is distraught after her 10-year-old daughter was pelted with stones and threatened with a knife by a group of teenagers in a Herefordshire village.

The incident, which had been reported to West Mercia Police (ref: 00548i10062021) is said to have occurred in the village of Withington on Thursday 10th June at around 5pm.

The child’s mother, who doesn’t wish to be named at this stage, told Your Herefordshire:

“My 10 year old daughter was attacked by a group of teenagers consisting of boys and girls of secondary school age on Thursday night in Withington at around 5pm.

“It was a sustained attack where my daughter was dragged into the woods, pelted with stones and rocks and threatened with a knife.

“We spent a long evening in A&E where she had a partial dislocation of her shoulder and multiple bruises. Whilst the officer dealing with it is sympathetic and wanting to help, their hands are tied without names.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101.
