The Central Brecon Beacons Mountain Rescue Team were called to an incident on Saturday where a man had taken a nasty fall and sustained a serious leg injury.

At 1pm on Saturday, a rescue team from the Central Brecon Beacons Mountain Rescue Team were contacted by Longtown Mountain Rescue Team.

They were already out dealing with a rescue, had received a separate request for a second incident from Gwent Police and asked the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team to help with an injured mountain biker near Llanvihangel Crucorney.

The gentleman had taken a nasty fall and required medical aid on a seriously injured leg. Crews arrived to find two Longtown team colleagues on scene with the air ambulance crew who provided medical treatment, the Mountain Rescue Team then carried the gentleman onto the aircraft. From there he was airlifted to hospital.
