Motorists are being warned to expect a month of delays later this year, with road closures in place on the A49 between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye for road maintenance work to take place.

National Highways have confirmed that they will be carrying out work on the A49 between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye in October and November 2023, with work planned to start on 9th October and finish on 3rd November.

Disruption should be limited, due to the work being carried out by National Highways staff overnight, between the hours of 8pm and 6am.

National Highways shared the following update on the Herefordshire Council roadworks site:

“White lining/road markings – A49 both directions Wilton roundabout to B4348 Llandinabo carriageway closure for white lining/road markings.”

The work will take place in stages, meaning that only short sections of the A49 will be closed at a time, with diversion routes available. Access will be made available for local residents.

We’ll provide further information, closer to the schedule time.
