Motorists that use the A49 between Hereford and Leominster could soon see their misery ended, with National Highways today reviewing the temporary traffic lights that have been in place since the summer between Holmer Church and Lyde.
Balfour Beatty/Herefordshire Council confirmed that National Highways would visit the site today, following complaints from motorists about length queues, particularly at rush hour in the morning and later in the day.
Once completed, the new junction will see an access road between Holmer Road (A49) and Roman Road (A4103). It will cut through a new housing development and will join Roman Road opposite Hereford Racecourse.
As part of the works, the 30mph speed limit as you enter Hereford has been extended and now begins around 200 yards further up the road towards Lyde.
