From Ross-on-Wye Town Council:
We have been informed by National Highways that they will be removing hazardous trees on the M50 between junction 2 and junction 4.
Once their work is complete, they will replace trees that have been removed, where possible.
They will work overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 24 February to Wednesday 5 March 2025, weeknights only. To carry out their work safely, they will close the M50 westbound between junction 2 and junction 4.
They will also need to carry out further hazardous tree removals on the eastbound carriageway between junction 4 and junction 2.
They anticipate that this work will start in March following the completion of their work on the westbound carriageway.
They will share further information via our mailing list when their programme is confirmed. If you’d like to be kept up to date with their work at this location and future work along the M50, please subscribe to their mailing list by emailing noreplyM50WMids@nationalhighways.co.uk.

During closures, they will install a fully signed diversion route via the A417 and the A40.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout their work. They apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience this may cause.
They will make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum.
They always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.
