Mayor of Hereford, Paul Stevens, attended the opening of All Cancer Support Group Herefordshire last week. The new support group welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds regardless of where they are on their cancer journey.
The group aimed to create a friendly, relaxing meeting place where people can enjoy getting to know each other via a wide variety of social activities and experiences, whilst also having a chat over a cuppa and home-made cake. Cancer can be a lonely experience at times, even with the most supportive of family and friends, and many people find it awkward to talk about.
The group meets on the first Thursday of every month, 10am-noon at the Salvation army Church and Community Centre Hereford, and have a planned schedule of speakers, activities and outings for the rest of the year.
