West Mercia Police have confirmed that a man has pleaded guilty to assaulting a broadband engineer.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:

“We have received an update from crime 22/EA/11176/21, which is an incident that happened in Leominster earlier in the year.

“The incident involved a male purposefully entering a barrier where workmen were going about their rightful duties. Rather than report or complain to the appropriate agency in regards to the broadband supplier, he took it upon himself to try disrupt the work from being completed which resulted in a member of the workforce being assaulted.  This behavior was completely unacceptable.

“The male was charged with assault and has pleaded guilty in court (sentencing will be set in court at a later date). This result is down to the hard work of Pc Harris who was the investigating officer, working in conjunction with Leominster safer neighbourhood Team, helping to keep our communities safe.”
