There was a major response to reports of an incident at Greyfriars Bridge in Hereford on Tuesday evening.
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to a rescue from depth at Greyfriars Bridge in Hereford after receiving reports of people stuck in the tunnel system beneath the bridge.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:
“Four Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – two from Hereford and one each from Ewyas Harold and Peterchurch Fire Stations – plus the Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service rope rescue team were called to rescue from depth at Greyfriars Bridge, Hereford at 16:36 on 13 February.
“There were reports of people stuck in the tunnel system beneath the bridge.
“The incident was sectorised and a search of all the tunnels was carried out but no persons were found. Police and ambulance were also in attendance.
“The incident was marked as pending closure at 19:01.”
