There are severe delays near Worcester this morning following a serious incident on the M5.
Emergency services, including West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service are at the scene and motorists are advised to use an alternative route if possible.
An update from National Highways said:
“The M5 is now CLOSED in both directions within J6 (#Worcester) due to a serious incident.
“Traffic is being diverted around the scene of the incident via the exit and entry slip roads at the roundabout.
“There’s approximately a 30 minute delay in both directions.
“If you’re caught within the closure of the M5 within J6 (#Worcester) then we are now working with Police to get you moving again. You will be turned around from the rear of the queue.
“Please await instruction before moving. Thanks for your ongoing patience.”
