There are major delays on the M50 in Herefordshire this afternoon due to a vehicle fire.

Motorists heading towards South Wales face a long diversion until the route reopens.

The following update is from West Mercia Police:

M50 Westbound – Jcts 2 (Ledbury) and 3 (Gorsley)@HWFire dealing with a car fire on the Ross/South Wales bound carriageway, so traffic is being taken off at Junction 2 (A417) – which will temporarily involve a long diversion via A417 to Ledbury , then the A449 towards Ross pic.twitter.com/qRI1hM9jlG
