A local resident has taken to social media to warn dog walkers about the risks posed by snakes in areas such as the Malvern Hills.

The resident shared a post on the Malvern Hills Display Board saying:

“Please be aware of snakes on the hills in this hot weather. This morning my dog was bitten by an adder whilst walking on British Camp.

“She is now at the vets and anti-venom is being given but this is not a regular medication kept by vets so a trip to Solihull had to be made.

“My dog is stable and being cared for by Leadon Vale Veterinary Ledbury, who have been brilliant, big thank you to them.

“So please just be careful when walking on the hills.”
