A local resident has contacted Your Herefordshire to share her concern over the lack of CCTV on a stretch of pathway in Hereford.

The female, who we have decided not to name, was walking to work down the pathway between Widemarsh and Aldi / Sainsbury’s at around 4am, when a random person jumped out of a hedge and scared her.

Fortunately, this didn’t lead to anything else, but it left the female shook up.

Additional CCTV has been installed on Great Western Way following incidents over recent years and as part of the Safer Streets campaign led by West Mercia Police.

Recently artwork has also been installed in the underpass between Aldi and Sainsbury’s as steps are made to make the area a safer place for pedestrians and cyclists.

Your Herefordshire has advised the unnamed person to contact West Mercia Police to log the incident.
