A licensing application has been submitted for a new sports bar in the centre of Hereford.
The application, submitted to Herefordshire Council, on behalf of Novello’s Pool Bar on Commercial Street states that the new sports bar will open in a pre-existing venue and will be used as a bar.
It will be a pool venue with a bar and occasional live music and recorded music. This will be indoors only.
The sports bar will be located on the first floor of the building and will have a smoking area at the front. No alcohol will be served or sold outside.
The application states that the business wishes to open between the hours of 12pm to 11.30pm Monday to Wednesday and 12pm until midnight on a Thursday. Friday and Saturday opening hours will be longer, between 12pm and 1am on a Friday and 10am and 1am on a Saturday. Sunday opening is planned to be between 10am and 11pm.
The sports bar has also applied to be allowed to open until 2am on New Year’s Eve.
There will also be gaming machines on the premises. The company intends to join the Hereford Hand Ban initiative and there will be CCTV in place. SIA trained door staff will be on the door of the premises at times if necessary.
