Leominster and the surrounding area recorded one of the lowest COVID-19 infection rates in the UK in the week ending 22nd June, latest data released by Public Health England shows.

Infection rates in Leominster North, Leominster South, the Wigmore area, the Shobdon and Bodenham area and Bromyard area were all considered to be too low to record an infection rate, with each area recording fewer than three new cases of the virus.

Herefordshire’s overall COVID-19 infection rate remains one of the lowest in England, with an infection rate of 35.8 cases per 100,000 population recorded in the seven day period ending 22nd June. This is considerably lower than some surrounding counties including Gloucestershire (infection rate of 139.9 cases per 100,000 population) and Shropshire (infection rate of 64.4 cases per 100,000 population).

Golden Valley – 7 new cases (112.1)

Hereford North West – 3 new cases (32.2)

Credenhill, Weobley & Wellington – 4 new cases (41.6)
