Both Herefordshire MP’s have voted this evening against a motion put forward by the Labour Party and backed by footballer Marcus Rashford to extend the free school meals scheme over the school holidays until Easter 2021, to help feed more than 1.4 million hungry children in the United Kingdom.
Manchester United footballer and campaigner Marcus Rashford MBE has said children will be going to bed tonight “thinking they do not matter” after this decision.
The Conservatives voted down the motion, which was defeated by 322 votes to 261, with Jesse Norman and Bill Wiggin both voting against the motion.
