It’s the end of an era for a Hereford fish and chip shop, with a post on social media confirming that the shop will close this Saturday for the final time, with new owners set to take over in January.

College Green Fish and Chip Shop shared the following post on Facebook this morning:

“Earlier this year, after 38 years of owning and running college green chip shop, we made the difficult decision as a family and as a business that it is our time to move on from College Green.

“To every single person who has supported us in anyway over the last 38 years we thank-you deeply, without you we wouldn’t have been in the shop as long as we have been.

“Some customers we have become life time friends with.

“Our last day of us running the business will be Saturday 23rd December 2023, the new owner will then take over and the shop will re-open under new management after the new year.

“Out of respect to the new owners so they can make college green their own, we will be removing this page also after the new year.

“We want to dedicate this post to Roy who is Allies partner and the girls dad, who we sadly lost earlier this year, Roy was our behind the scenes man who prepped our potatoes and did the majority of our shop maintenance, he is missed by us all.

“Again, we thank you all deeply for the support over the last 38 years.

“We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

“From us all at College Green. Thank you. Lu, Allison, Barry, Sophie, Laura & Claire.”
