There have been huge queues at shops just across the border in Wales today, as the country came out of the 17 day firebreak lockdown.

Huge queues were reported in Cardiff and Newport, with large queues also reported at shops in Merthyr Tydfil, the town that recently had the highest rate of COVID-19 infections in the United Kingdom.

Meanwhile, in England, non-essential retail remains closed and other sectors such as pubs, bars and hairdressers are also closed due to a national lockdown that will remain in place until 2nd December.
