Home Secretary Priti Patel has criticised protesters that have taken to the streets of London.
Different pockets of protesters have clashed with each other and with police officers that have tried to separate them.
The Home Secretary said:
“Throughly unacceptable thuggery.
Any perpetrators of violence or vandalism should expect to face the full force of the law. Violence towards our police officers will not be tolerated.
Coronavirus remains a threat to us all. Go home to stop the spread of this virus & save lives.”
Thankfully, no such protests have taken place in #Herefordshire. Health Secretary Matt Hancock had appealed to the public and to avoid mass gatherings and protests this weekend due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
