A Herefordshire Primary School is set to reopen today, following a week long closure due to COVID-19.
St Mary’s C of E Primary School in Credenhill took the decision with Herefordshire’s Public Health team to enforce a week long closure to slow the spread of COVID-`19, with a significant number of cases of the virus in the Credenhill area.
A post shared by the school on 23rd November said:
“St Mary’s Primary school in Credenhill has closed due to the pressures caused by COVID-19 on staffing.
“Herefordshire’s public health team are working closely with the school and swift action has been taken to reduce the risk of transmission.Â
“Rates of COVID-19 are high in Herefordshire. We encourage everyone to take steps to prevent the spread – regular testing using rapid lateral flow tests (LFD) for people who don’t have symptoms including testing before going into busy, crowded situations or visiting somebody who is vulnerable, wearing a face covering in crowded areas and keeping socially distanced.“
The good news is that latest data from Public Health England indicates a significant fall in the number of infections in the Credenhill area, with data for the seven day period ending 24th November showing a 30.7% fall in the number of positive tests in comparison to the previous seven day period.
