Bill Wiggin (MP for North Herefordshire) joined over 100 Conservative MP’s in writing a letter to Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer overnight, in response to remarks made by Chair and Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, Angela Rayner.
Angela Rayner is reported to have said the words ‘Tory Scum’ in Parliament last week and the MP’s that have signed the letter have said that since the comments, the level of abuse aimed at them online has increased significantly.
The letter states, “We respectfully ask you take action, reaffirming your commitment to working constructively, asking Labour MP’s and party members to act appropriately at all times, taking action against those who perpetrate this unacceptable abuse online and offline, and publicly apologise for Angela Rayner’s record of unparliamentary behaviour.”
Chair of the Conservative Party, Amanda Milling, headed the letter.
