Herefordshire Highways have confirmed that its crews were called to a mudslide in a Herefordshire village, as part of 250 emergency jobs following recent flooding.
A spokesperson for Herefordshire Highways said:
“Following the recent flooding across Herefordshire, our crews have been working 24/7 from Wednesday evening through to Sunday afternoon, tackling over 250 emergency jobs and reopening as many roads as safely possible to keep the county moving.
“One incident was in Orleton, where a mudslide runoff cut off a cul-de-sac.
“Thanks to the great work of our dedicated teams, we were able to remove the mud and fully clean up the area for the residents.
“While most roads are now open, a few still remain closed due to water levels or carriageway damage.
“Our Asset team will be reviewing these areas for necessary repairs and they will re-open when they have passed a full safety inspection.”
