Herefordshire GP surgeries have issued urgent alerts to patients, following an IT failure this morning.

GP surgeries, along with a number of other organisations and businesses across Herefordshire, have been affected by a global system outage that appears to be affecting Microsoft users across the globe.

Ledbury Health Partnership said:

“Please be aware our IT systems are down.

“This is an international problem affecting many industries from banks to airlines.

“If your concern is urgent, or you have a pre-booked appointment we are still able to assist you.

“If however, your query is of a routine nature, or you are enquiring about test results or prescription requests, please wait for another day.”

Hereford Medical Group said:

“Please note that we are being affected by a national issue with the health records software that we use.  This means that we do not have access to medical records.

“This appears to be affecting all practices in Herefordshire.

“We have taken the decision to keep our online consultation forms *open* but please be aware that there may be a delay in these being processed.

“Depending on how quickly the issue is resolved by the supplier, you may not hear until after the weekend, unless the GP feels that your problem needs to be seen today.  Please continue to use the online form via our website if you need to request an appointment.

“We will continue to update on here and our website during the day.  www.herefordmedicalgroup.co.uk.

“Our team will do their best to assist you today.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.“
