From Herefordshire Council:

Refresher training for older drivers

For many older people in Herefordshire a driving licence provides vital independence, the ability to keep in touch with friends and family, attend appointments and social events. We are committed to helping people retain their independent mobility while remaining safe on the road.

Older drivers have valuable driving experience, however, many begin to lose confidence in their driving abilities. This might be because their eyesight or hearing may not be what it once was, or new road layouts, busier roads and driver aids in modern cars can make people feel anxious about driving. Older drivers may feel they simply need to refresh their driving skills if moving home, buying a new car or finding themselves as the main driver.

We offer drivers who live in Herefordshire and are aged 70 or over a two hour practical driving session with an approved driving instructor, in their own vehicle. It will only cost you £10 – Herefordshire Council will pay the remainder of the fee. The refresher training can help to increase confidence, improve driving skills and reduce the risk of being involved in a collision.
