Herefordshire Council appears to be looking to approve the freehold disposal of Hereford Town Hall in St Owen Street, according to a document published online.

The document states that the reason that the council is looking to approve the disposal of Hereford Town Hall is down to expenditure and strategic nature, plus the impact on communities.

Hereford Town Hall is a municipal building in St Owen Street, Hereford. The building is a Grade II* listed building.

When we first posted about this on Facebook earlier this week, the proposed sale was greeted by anger from some local residents who were disappointed that the council was considering selling this historic building that the people of Hereford believe is one of the cities biggest assets.

The Town Hall is currently the home of Hereford City Council and also houses Hereford Business Improvement District (Hereford BID) and has undergone major work in recent years, with scaffolding recently removed from the front of the historic building.
