Herefordshire Council is set to consider introducing on-street parking charges on additional streets in Hereford City Centre and the surrounding area.
The council is also understood to be considering extending the current on-street charging period to include charging motorists to park on-street every Sunday.
According to an upcoming decision titled, ‘On Street Parking Review – Hereford City Centre’, Herefordshire Council is to ‘consider and approve the recommendation to consult on introducing On Street parking charges in areas on the periphery of the Historic City Core Centre.’
The report goes on to say that Herefordshire Council ‘will also consider extending charging period of current on street paid for parking to cover Sundays.’
The wards said to be affected by the potential introduction of additional charges and the extension of charges to include every Sunday are Central, Hinton & Hunderton, as well as Widemarsh.
A decision is due by the 17th February.
