Fire crews have been called to an incident in Hereford city centre this morning.

The incident has occurred on Bridge Street, at the junction with King Street. 

Motorists are advised to use an alternative route. 

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said:

“Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hereford Fire Station were called at 08:42 on 27 February to smoke issuing in Bridge Street, Hereford. A small fire contained to a lighting strip had burnt out before the arrival of the fire service.

“The lighting strip was made safe and the scene checked over with a thermal imaging camera.”
