Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service have provided an update following an incident on the River Wye in Hereford on Saturday.

West Mercia Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service all attended the incident on Saturday evening. 

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire: 

“Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hereford Fire Station plus the water first responders from Hereford, boat crew from Hereford and Evesham, and the incident command unit and drone from Ledbury were called at 15:55 on 22 June to a rescue from water at River View, Hereford. 

“A female casualty was located in the river and rescued using boat and swift water teams before being handed over to the care of the ambulance service who attended along with police.

“The incident was marked as pending closure at 17:54.”
