Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to a house fire in a Herefordshire village on Thursday evening.

Crews from Ewyas Harold Fire Station attended the incident and swiftly got the fire under control.

Fortunately nobody was injured in the incident.

A spokesperson for Ewyas Harold Fire Station (Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service) said:

“Crew mobilised to reported house fire in Garway.

“Upon arrival, 2 crew members entered the property in BA to extinguish kitchen fire through thick smoke and large flames.

“Fire extinguished within single compartment however there was significant smoke damage to the rest of the property.

“Thankfully, there were no casualties thanks to sensible & quick reactions of the children and parent for getting out as soon as possible and asking neighbour to ring 999.”
