Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to a house fire in Leominster on Saturday.

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:

“Three Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – one each from Leominster, Hereford and Leintwardine – were called to a building fire in Silurian Close, Leominster.

“There was a fire in a terraced bungalow, around 15 x 5 metres, and this had spread to the roofspace.

“The fire was fought by two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using two hosereel jets and one covering jet.

“Tactical ventilation was also used. No other emergency services attended.

“The incident was marked as pending closure at 16:14 with reinspections taking place at 20:00 and 00:30.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up to support a Herefordshire family who lost everything – including their pet dog in a fire on Saturday.

The fire occurred in Leominster, with several Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews called to the incident.

Sadly, the family also lost their pet dog Rocky, in the fire.

A short piece on the GoFundMe page said:

“Yesterday, 18th November 2023 my auntie and her partner lost their family home and their very beloved dog Rocky who everyone knows was their little baby.

“Unfortunately nothing in the fire was able to be saved so they only have the clothes on their backs.

“I’m reaching out to ask if anyone is able to donate even £1 to be able to help get them get through this tough time and to help with clothing and furniture for when they are rehoused.

“They have nothing so will have to start from scratch. Thank you.”
