Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service have provided an update after crews were called to reports of a lorry on fire in Leominster on Tuesday afternoon.

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (Leominster Fire Station) said:

“Just after 5pm yesterday, both our pumps were called to a report of a large livestock vehicle on fire, on Mill St in town.

“With a number of sheep on board, crews worked hard at dealing with what turned out to be the LGV’s overheated brakes.

“All sheep were transferred unharmed to an oncoming support livestock carrier.

“The environmental pack we carry was also used, to prevent water run off from entering the drain system.”
