Worcester Race for life 2022 takes place at the racecourse on Sunday 10th July.
Due to event not taking place in Hereford this year, a lot of Herefordians will be nipping across the county to take part in the 5km circuit and raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK.
One of these will be Michelle Burston from Hereford, her late husband Fred Birch passed away last year.
Michelle told Your Herefordshire “I met Fred thirty years ago and he was a wonderful man, he was extremely popular in Hereford and plenty of people knew him”
Michelle added. “I wanted to do something to raise money for Cancer research and I saw that there was a Race for Life event in Worcester, so I signed up, it’s going to be a hot day, but I have wanted to do this for ages and I can’t wait for it to happen now”
As well as running for Fred, there is another person Michelle will be running in memory of “My Grandad Davies meant so much to me and I will also taking part in Race for Life for him, he attended mine and Fred’s wedding and he was such an amazing person. I miss them both massively”
