Local businessman Joynal Abaden was the proud recipient of a prestigious award at the National Curry awards that were held at the House of Lords in London.

Joynal told us “Amazing Asia beat off plenty of competition to win the award, I am so proud of my team and it was a privilege to be invited to the House of Lords to claim the prize for the West Midlands area”

He continued “Whilst I was there I met the former MP Jacob Rees-Mogg who talked to me about how my business started, I invited him over to Hereford when he has time”

The ceremony is an annual event  which has been established to celebrate and highlights the success of the UK’s curry industry. The Asian catering industry is valued at around £5 billion. Even so, over the years the industry has witnessed a steep decline, largely attributed to  the shortage of skilled workers and a lack of investment in training.

The National Curry Awards has been launched to promote the successful businesses of the curry industry as well as highlighting its creative and talented chefs.

National Curry Award winners represent the best that can be achieved through dedication to creating fantastic cuisine and to providing first-class  customer service.
