The team from the Golden Fleece in Hereford are hoping to raise £1,500 towards the cost of a defibrillator outside the front of their pub in St Owen Street.
Dave Ross took over as landlord of the city pub back in April, he has worked and run many pubs around the county and he told Your Herefordshire “I wanted to bring back the community feel of The Golden Fleece, the past couple of years there have been plenty of landlord’s here and some only stayed a couple of weeks. I felt the pub lost it’s way and it’s identity”
Dave continued “There isn’t a defibrillator this side of town and having one outside The Golden Fleece could possibly save somebody’s life”
We asked Dave how he plans to raise the money “I’ve been growing my beard the past ten months and I will be doing a sponsored beard shave in the next few weeks, we raffle off hampers, we have bingo and quizzes, plus the daytime crowd who watch the horse racing get involved too, basically anything where we can raise some money it all goes into the defibrillator pot, the customers and staff have been absolutely brilliant and have all got behind it”
Dave has been challenged by his bosses to raise the money by the end of September 2022 “If anybody wants to pop by and even make a donation, that would be massively appreciated, it would be brilliant if we can all pull together to raise the cash”
