A Hereford pub has confirmed that it has taken the decision to no longer open on a Monday due to a fall in trade.

The owners of the Volunteer pub on Harold Street in Hereford shared the following message on social media on Monday.

“We have made the decicion, like many other pubs in Hereford, to close on a Monday as we just aren’t getting enough people in to make it financially viable.

“I’m sure this won’t be popular among the few that might have popped in for a drink and for that we apologise but sometimes you have to make difficult decisions for the good of the business overall.

“See you at 4pm tomorrow.”
