The organisers of Hereford Pride have today confirmed that Hereford Pride will be cancelled until next year as a mark of respect to Her Majesty The Queen following her death last week.
A spokesperson for Hereford Pride said:
“In respect of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, Hereford Pride 22 is postponed to honour the national 12-day mourning period.
“Lengthy conversations were had and every possible attempt was made to find a suitable date to reschedule but unfortunately, the acts we had in the line-up were so fabulous that getting them all available on another day this year was a totally impossible task.
“Plus, attempting such a large outdoor event so late in the year meant that we face poor weather conditions.
“The reasons above combined were enough for us to have to consider the following decision.
“After discussions with Hereford Racecourse, it is with heavy hearts that we are reporting that we have decided it is best to postpone the main event until 2023.
“The new agreed date for Hereford Pride will be 10th June 2023.
“We feel terrible that it’s come to this and we are working very hard to secure a venue for a smaller winter-themed Pride event for December 2022.
“On a brighter note, we have decided to go ahead with our 90’s vs 00’s Party @ Saxtys Bar & Club on Saturday 17th September.
Open from 9pm til 2am – Optional Fancy Dress – Over 18’s! (More Details To Follow).”
