The Herefordshire Labour Party have posted drawings of unicorns through the letterbox of the Hereford Lib Dems, stating that the Liberal Democrats pushing for a bypass is ‘pure fantasy’ due to a lack of funding for such a project.

Local Labour candidates also criticised the Lib Dems for failing to turn up at a number of local hustings ahead of the local elections on Thursday (4th May).

A spokesperson for the Hereford & Herefordshire South Labour Party said:

“We’ve been honest with our policies, as we have on the doorstep.

“Where as The Lib Dems policies are full of fantasy. So, we coloured in some pictures for them.”

The Labour Party has revealed its list of candidates that will be standing in the local elections that are set to take place on Thursday 4th May.

“We’re delighted to announce our Herefordshire Labour Candidates for May’s Elections. We’re proud to be standing across the county, from Hereford City, to our wonderful market towns.

“Our strong field of candidates are already standing on a platform of ‘Value for Your Money’, ensuring we use our funds to support our county’s needs.

“Labour is a Government in waiting and our ‘Take Back Control Bill’ will ensure we can improve everyday life for all of us here in Herefordshire. We are after all the second largest Party here in Herefordshire.

“To our members, there is still time to stand, so do let us know. Likewise, to our friends and supporters, you are most welcome to join us as we push to ensure we have Labour representation around our Council table.

“What we mustn’t do is look back to failed administrations, with hollow promises and wasted money.

“It’s time for change, it’s time for Labour.”
