Herefordshire’s COVID-19 infection rate has slightly risen, with data for the seven days up until 19th February showing an infection rate of 99.6 cases per 100,000 population. This is UP on data up until the 18th February that showed an infection rate of 96.5 cases per 100,000 population.

However, what will be concerning some is the rate of infection in Hereford East (Tupsley & Hampton Park Road area). Rates here have risen to over 400 cases per 100,000 population, up by over 118% on the previous seven days. In truth, if it wasn’t for this one exception, then Herefordshire’s COVID-19 infection rate would be significantly lower than it is.

The infection rate in Tupsley is now one of the highest in the West Midlands, with only a handful of areas, including West Bromwich East seeing higher infection rates.
