NEWS | Frustration grows as students arrive late at college due to rail shortages - Herefordshire’s Independent Source of News & Information

Students travelling to college in Hereford are continuing to share their frustration at the service put on by Transport for Wales. Students were promised extra carriages and trains to get them to college from South Wales. Some of this promise has yet to have materialised with a lack of carriages on each train still a problem.

Hey @tfwrail a couple of weeks ago you PROMISED us a 3rd carriage on the 8:30 train to hereford. Today I’ve been put on a bus because there’s only 2 carriages on this train. I’ll now be late for my lessons. What is going on?! This is a terrible service!

I understand that but don’t make promises you can’t keep. If I’d have known this train was only two carriages I would have got on the earlier train BUT we were promised there would be 3.

David Davies (MP for Monmouth) took to Twitter just last month to confirm that Transport for Wales had promised improvements to the service provided for students travelling to Hereford from South Wales.

Meeting With ⁦@tfwrail⁩ at Abergavenny Railway Station today to discuss student transport to Hereford College. An extra train will be laid on from Monday. More needs to be done though. pic.twitter.com/8kBl03k2vy
