The Met Office has issued a freezing fog warning for parts of Herefordshire this morning, with areas such as Hereford waking up to a very wintry scene.

Temperatures fell to lows of -4c overnight and some parts of the county have woken up to a severe frost, with freezing fog leaving a layer of frost on most surfaces.

The Met Office warning says:

“Areas of freezing fog have formed and will be dense at times and slow to clear from some places today.

“Visibility as low as 50 to 100 metres is likely in a few areas and some untreated surfaces could turn icy, this combination resulting in potentially difficult driving conditions.”
