Four children have been rescued from the sea at Barry Island, after drifting out to sea on an inflatable item.
A spokesperson for Barry Coastguard said:
“Our Team with Barry Dock RNLI were called to four children drifting in an inflatable off Friars point.
“Lifeboat made best speed to the area, and found three children in a deflated inflatable and one trying to swim back, while we provided safety cover.
“Once all children were recovered, they were brought to shore, where our team checked they were ok and contacted their parents.
“NEVER go out to sea in inflatable items, and always know where your chidlren are.
“Huge thank you to all the members of the public who called 999 and asked for the Coastguard.”
