A former school teacher who was jailed in 2022 after admitting a string of historical sexual assaults on young girls between 1984 and 2005 has now been banned from the profession.

Peter Jenkins, also known as Peter Greenham, pleaded guilty to 15 charges including rape, indecent assault, sexual assault, unlawful sexual intercourse and inciting a girl to commit an act of gross indecency at Warwick Crown Court on 27 July 2022.

Jenkins taught at Whitecross High School in Hereford and handed himself into Police in January 2020.

He was sentenced to 13 years in jail at Warwick Crown Court in 2022.

His last known employment as a teacher was at Whitecross High School, where he served as Head of Religious Education from 1 September 1999 to 31 August 2006.

Secretary of State outcome:

Mr Peter Jenkins is prohibited from teaching indefinitely and cannot teach in any school, sixth form college, relevant youth accommodation or children’s home in England.
