A flood alert has been issued on the River Wye in Powys, with Storm Barra dropping over an inch of rain across the Welsh Mountains overnight.
A spokesperson for Natural Resources Wales said:
“This message will be updated on Floodline and on our website at 1:00 PM. At 8:00 AM, the level at Llandewi was 1.2 metres and rising. The level at Disserth was 0.8 metres and rising. The level at Builth Wells was 2.3 metres and rising. River levels are rising in the Upper Wye and have yet to peak at Builth Wells. The level at Erwood was 1.9 metres and rising. The level at Glasbury was 1.5 metres and rising. The level at Hay on Wye was 1.0 metres and steady.”
We are also expecting a Flood Alert to be issued on the River Wye in Herefordshire shortly as river levels rise downstream.
