Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews worked hard to extinguish a fire at a house in Herefordshire on Friday morning.
The fire occurred in the Bearwood area of the county.
A spokesperson for Kington Fire Station, one of the fire crews that attended the incident, said:
“After a busy night of training on Thursday working with our ladders and pumps we were mobilised to a severe house fire early on Friday morning.
“While over a mile away, seeing the flames in the distance, our officer in charge requested four more engines and a water carrier be sent to assist at the job.
“Finding the ground floor, upstairs and roof all well alight on arrival the quick decisions and assertive, aggressive firefighting tactics saved the house from total destruction.
“Crews worked tirelessly through the day to cut away plasterboard and remove the slate roof to find and extinguish every last bit of smouldering timber!”
