Fire crews were called to a landslide on Sunday, with heavy rain and strong winds from Storm Bert causing disruption across England and Wales.

The landslide occurred in South Wales.

A post shared on social by Cymmer Fire Station said:

“Crews are currently on scene at a landslide A4106 Bwlch Road from Treorchy to Nantymoel. 

“This road is will be closed until further notice.”

Fire crews from Herefordshire also helped to rescue motorists that were trapped in vehicles. Including one at Llangua Bridge on the Wales / Herefordshire border.

The weather should be much calmer today (Monday) with the clean up operation well underway.

“A cooler start with sunny spells.

“A few showers possible in the west but for most it should remain dry throughout the day.

“Breezy with temperatures returning closer to the seasonal average. 

“Maximum temperature 10 °C.”
