Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Malvern, Leominster and Worcester were called to a bonfire that had quickly spread this afternoon.

In a post on Facebook, Malvern Fire Station said:

“Malvern on call attended a small bonfire that had quickly spread this afternoon.

“Gratefully supported by Worcester Fire Station and Leominster Fire Station.

“Please think twice about burning in this weather, tree canopies, hedgerows and crops contain so little moisture, a fire can very quickly and easily get out of control in the countryside.

“The slightest change of conditions will affect the fire’s behaviour causing spread.”
